“The more, the more” statements are expressed “～すればするほど” in Japanese.

• 知れば知るほどもっと知りたくなる -> The more I learn, the more I want to learn
• 知れば知るほど興味が無くなる -> The more I learn, the less I am interested
• 説明されればされるほど余計分からなくなる -> The more I listen to explanations, the more I get confused
• 金はあればあるほど余計もっと欲しくなる -> The more money you have, the more you want
• やれと言われれば言われるほどやりたくなくなる -> The more I am told to do it, the less I want to do it

• 大きければ大きいほど良いという訳では無い -> It is not like “the bigger the better”. The bigger is not always the better
• 重量は軽ければ軽いほど良い -> When it comes to the weight, the lighter the better

As you can see “～れば～ほど” is applicable to not just “the more, the more” but “the bigger, the better”, “the less, the worse”, so on and so forth.
